Northside Los Santos, 1971

Jose Flores walked out of the 24/7 into the hot Los Santos sun. He was about 24 years old, and dressed in a red bandana, a white wifebeater, black khakis and black suspenders. In his right hand was a beer, and in his left was a cigar. It was a perfect day, bright, sunny, no trouble to be found. Jose started to walk the normal way home, but then turned on his heel and decided he'd enjoy the sun a little longer.

Up the stairs of the Las Colinas streets Jose ran, cigar in his mouth and the beer bottle still in right hand. He had never had this much fun in his life, and he wondered why. As he reached the top of the stairs, he was met by a car filled with four men, all wearing yellow bandanas. They quickly got out of the car and approached Jose, who had no idea what was really going on. From inside a nearby house, Jose's brother, Roberto, watched as his brother was beat down in public. In the struggle, Jose threw the beer bottle at one of the four men. It shattered on his head and suddenly the fighting stopped. For three split seconds, all 5 men stood in silence. The silence was broken almost as soon as it started by two shotgun blasts and the sound of a lifeless body falling down a flight of stairs.

His brother was dead, and his family had been deported, all Roberto had was Las Colinas Norte and a Tec-9 uzi. Three men stood, all dressed in red clothing, all hispanic. They drew their weapons and fired over 40 shots into the lifeless bodys of 4 men, all wearing yellow bandanas, all hispanic.

That was the start of it, that is how Las Colinas Norte first got organized. No one liked violence, no one liked killing people, but it was what had to be done to survive. Money was fast, drugs flooded the streets, people were shot, necks were broken, families were torn apart, and before anyone knew it, Las Colinas Norte was born.
